Double Decker Living Root Bridge

One of the most unique attractions in Cherrapunji tourism has to be undoubtedly the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. The unique aspect of this bridge is that it is grown by the local tribes of the area. It is made from the roots of Rubber Trees and with time as the roots grow and get intertwined, the bridge gets stronger. Seven Sisters Waterfall

At a mesmerising height of 315m (1033 feet), this waterfall is a treat to our eyes. Seven different streams join together in this waterfall and thus the name – Seven Sisters Waterfall. Although Cherrapunji receives rains throughout the year, the Monsoon season still makes the waterfalls more spectacular.Things to do– The gorgeous view especially during the Sunset or Sunrise is not to be missed.

Nohkalikai Falls

One of the most famous tourist attractions in Cherrapunji and its picturesque waterfalls here is the Nohkalikai Falls. It is also famous as the tallest plunge falls in India at an elevation of 1115 feet. The incredible height of the waterfall is indeed a sight to witness as it creates a beautiful turquoise-blue pool at the base. The lush greenery and cascading waterfalls are sure to leave an everlasting impression in your mind. Things to do– The water in the pool is crystal clear and makes for a refreshing dip.

Mawsmai caves

Cherrapunji tourism is not only about Waterfalls! Whether you are interested in geography or not, Mawsmai caves offer you an experience that will take you some thousand years back on Earth. It is well known for its natural limestone cave formations due to water erosion on the limestone. The beautiful stalactites and stalagmites formation inside the caves are also stunning and informative. Although the caves are well-lit inside it still exude an eerie feeling which is quite an interesting experience. Things to do– It is always good to hire a local guide for more local information on the caves.

Dainthlen Falls

One of the most popular places to visit in Cherrapunji
is the stunning Dainthlen Falls. It is indeed a spectacular sight to witness the cascading waterfalls from an elevation of 80 m. Here, you get to see the water falling down unlike the regular falls where you are standing at the base. You can have a mini Niagara Falls experience at the Dainthlen Falls. Things to do– Make sure to take some impressive family photographs as the whole ambiance is very Picturesque.

Thangkharang Park

Another must-visit Tourist Attraction in Cherrapunji
is Thangkharang Park. Sitting on top of a cliff, this Park offers fresh air, lush greenery, and impressive views. You can even have a view of Bangladesh (without a visa) fields from here. One of the key attractions in this park is the Khoh Ramhah – a giant rock resembling an upside-down basket. Things to do– Perfect place for families with small children due to the play area and it is also a favorite spot for photographers.

Eco Park

This is a popular tourist destination that is maintained by the Meghalaya Government and is famous for its scenic views. The park also offers impressive views of another iconic attraction, Seven Sisters Waterfall as it is the origin of many other waterfalls. Things to do– Ideal spot for family picnics with its beautiful lawns and colorful flowers.

Mawkdok Valley Viewpoint

A picturesque valley offering sweeping views of the green valleys, deep gorges and misty clouds is the Mawkdok Valley Viewpoint. The stunning views from this valley are magical during Sunrises and look straight out of a painting. Things to do– You can try various adventure activities here like Zip lining or paragliding.

Mawsynram Village
